The rights to intellectual property is the media artist's commodity. Media markets obtain and distribute that intellectual property which, has commercial viability. Lawyers assist in securing, protecting and transferring these rights. New computer-based markets are emerging and raising questions about the exploitation of valuable intellectual property rights,( whether it be short films, video, cell phone programs, etc.) .

This symposium brings together legal, marketing, business representatives and artists to analyze profit potential which may result from the changes in the market.
